Pilates @ Brighton

About Us

 COMPANY PROFILE

Pilates @ Brighton was established in 2002 by Melbourne Physiotherapist, Luke Goodwin.  Luke has extensive physiotherapy experience in private practice and sports injury management and decided to develop a Clinical Pilates studio to assist with the rehabilitation of his clients.

Whilst there are numerous pilates studios for people to choose from, Pilates @ Brighton was established so that clients could receive expert guidance by someone fully qualified to understand their particular condition.

Unlike many pilates studios, Pilates @ Brighton ensures that each new client is fully screened for current and pre-existing injuries.  This is performed during an initial one-on-one consultation.

Following this initial consultation, clients then have the choice of ongoing private sessions (1:1), or semi-private sessions (maximum of 3 people).  Keeping groups to a maximum of 3 people ensures that each client receives excellent supervision, guidance and safety.  This may not be achieved at other pilates studios with group classes of 15, 20, 30 or more people.

At Pilates @ Brighton, your safety and satisfaction is our number one priority.

For those clients who may require some "hands-on" physiotherapy treatment, this service is also available, along with our newly introduced services of beauty therapy, podiatry, pregnancy massage, sports/exercise kinesiology, nutrition and lifestyle management.

If you have any questions about the services offered at Pilates @ Brighton, please email luke@pilatesbrighton.com.au or call the clinic directly on (03) 9591 0500.

BEVERLEY JANE HANNAY

(MASSAGE THERAPIST)

My career in massage started in 1984 as a back up to Kinesiology, which I taught at TAFE. Through a sequence of events and opportunities, I arrived in Monte Carlo (France) where I lived and worked for 11 years. It was there that I developed my unique style of massage and energy balancing.

As a masseuse at a world-renowned five star hotel, I massaged six to seven people a day, six days a week, and as a consequence I developed a high profile clientele. Some clients were world sports champions, some in entertainment, others had billion dollar businesses whilst the one thing they had in common was that they were all exposed to high levels of stress.

During this time, I mastered the French and Italian languages though not all my clients spoke French or Italian. Although difficult in the beginning, this lack of verbal communication helped me to develop other skills, which gave me more insight about my clients than words could. An in-depth course I did in Italy (Similar to Reiki), helped me to develop my Higher Sensory Perception skills which I now blend with my massage.

My favourite treatment is massaging mums to be. I enjoy helping them to relieve their pain and uplift their energy levels allowing them to better connect with their unborn baby.

Here at Pilates @ Brighton, Luke and I have set up a warm, calm treatment room for you. A professionally designed support allows you to lie safely on your front whilst receiving a nurturing massage from head to toe. This effective treatment relieves headaches, soothes the back and joints, helps eliminate fluid and renews vitality allowing you to better enjoy your pregnancy.

Beverley is also available for general, relaxation, sports and remedial massage treatments.

Gift vouchers are available for you to treat someone special !

Appointments with Beverley can be made by calling (03) 9591 0500 or 0439 992 517.
