PILATES TESTIMONIALS

" I am not a professional athlete, but I am sure my
love for sport is as great as any professional's.
Playing football, basketball and surfboat rowing have
all given me interesting and exciting highs and lows.
The lows tend to come in the form of some sort of
debilitating injury. I have had back pain and
limitations in my flexibility through this area for
the last few years. My physio suggested that I start
clinical pilates and for the past 12 months I have
been working with Luke Goodwin at Pilates @ Brighton
once a week. The results have been fantastic. I have
not had any back pain since we started and my
flexibility has improved dramatically. I feel like my
core strength has gone from 0/10 to 8/10. The best
part is the results that I am now getting in my
sporting endeavours.

It is great having a qualified
Physio to do the pilates with so that any
injuries/soreness can be assessed at the time and the
program adjusted accordingly. I would recommend Luke
Goodwin and Pilates @ Brighton to anyone wishing to
improve flexibility and strength or recover from an
injury. People of all ages can benefit - from young
athletes to more mature people wanting to get the most
out of life. My sporting endeavours are back on track
and my back pain is well under control, however I will
definitely be back at Pilates next week and the week
after and the week after that."

"I have been attending Pilates @ Brighton for the past 4 months and have found it to be a fantastic form of exercise. Being small classes I am given the one-on-one attention needed to ensure I gain the maximum out of my work-out both from a fitness and therapeutic perspective. Luke is great at assessing my level and providing me with continual challenges and I have noted a significant improvement in my general well-being and fitness."

"Pilates is an ideal exercise system for people who are busy. For people like myself who are so busy being busy, I find that one or two visits a week to Pilates is still achievable. Why do I do Pilates - I find that the stretching exercises help to keep my body oiled and the strengthening exercises really help you when you have a history of chronic neck and back problems. To me it is important to do the exercises with a qualified physiotherapist having tried group sessions before and found it is very easy to over extend oneself without the watchful eye of a Luke Goodwin.

I have no hesitation in recommending anyone to try Pilates. Begin with a few one on one sessions with Luke to establish basic understanding and your personal routine and then proceed to one of the small group sessions where individual assistance is still close at hand. I am sure that you will feel an inner strength and a better feeling of well being as you progress."
